 "Just like the TV MOP"
first hour: James Brown's Greatest Hits, Always start here, once through. Some random organzing of paper-recyclables dozens of unread magazines & NYTimes Automobile and Sports sections. This activity cannot really be called "organizing" because it involves mostly chucking them on the floor out in the hallway; Very little actual cleaning; Some dancing.
second hour: Willie Nelson's Red Headed Stranger, 2x through. During this hour mostly some pacing; a dozen drinking glasses are gathered from the rooms and delivered to the sink, none are washed. Some paperback books are put into a neat stack. The fridge's plug is yanked, its freezer door opened for defrosting; Much needed. With a functional freezer in our future we will feel free to feast on favorite ice creams, finally.
third/fourth hour: time to get into it. Thinking of some rock. Murray Street, Sonic Youth, yes again and again. Here's where the bucket comes out from under the kitchen sink. The bucket itself is filthy, so filthy it must first be cleaned before becoming fit to contain a cleasner which will cleanse towards a cleaner floor. Make mental note to clean your own feet before next time mopping a floor. Three times through for this album. It is during these 3rd/4th hours that capfuls of bleach are poured and rubber gloves are worn. Vacuum is tugged out of closet. No dishes are washed.
fifth hour: NPR's Prairie Home Companion's not doing anybody any good here. In a queit moment, put on Bonnie Prince Billy. Here marks first detrimental mistake. No cleaning will be done to this cd. A cat crawls into a lap and it's 'who-needs-clean-dishes'? A nap is thought about. A nap is still being thought about... pouring rain makes loud dripping noises, until it's realized that no this is not the sound of rain this is the sound of rain being drowned out by the sound of melting freezer ice dripping all over a clean kitchen floor. Ha, take that clean floor....or no, wait, take that, big-assed ice chunks from shitty freezer, or... rather, take this.....take this... take this nap now......

8:49 PM Thursday June 5 2003
All day my computer clock was set 3 hours earlier than reality. At 5:00 I thought it was 2:00. At 7:00 I believed it to be 4:00. My clients weren't writing me back on my urgent "3:00" emails. at "4:00" I called Jenni's gallery, no answerI let it ring solid for 30 minutes... no answer as I began imagining they were being robbed in the middle of the day and couldn't get to the phone, but were all listening to it ring endlessly. The robbers were getting more and more agitated at the incessant ringing. The robbers had tight pantyhose strung over their faces.
In reality it was after closing, and everyone had gone home.
Everyone but the ROBBERS!!!
